A lawsuit accusing Baker Hughes Inc. of infringing on two patents for oil and gas drilling equipment will proceed in Delaware, a federal judge ruled this week.

U.S. District Judge Sue L. Robinson of the District of Delaware on Wednesday affirmed a magistrate judge’s August recommendation that the court deny Baker Hughes’ motion to transfer the case to the Southern District of Texas, where the Houston-based oil field services giant had previously tangled with Smith International Inc. and its parent company, Schlumberger.
