Legal analysts say it’s early but Andre G. Bouchard could be the only applicant for the soon-to-be-open chancellor seat on the Delaware Court of Chancery.

Bouchard, managing partner with Bouchard Margules & Friedlander, is viewed as the front-runner for the position that will be vacant once current Chancellor Leo E. Strine Jr. is sworn in as Delaware Supreme Court chief justice later this month. Others mentioned as possible candidates include current Superior Court Judge Jan R. Jurden, Chancery Court Vice Chancellor J. Travis Laster and Joseph R. Slights III, a former Superior Court judge and current Morris James partner.
