A former schoolteacher allegedly disabled for life due to an “unreasonably aggressive” surgery won a more than $3 million verdict in front of a Sussex County jury.

Last month, a jury in the Sussex County Superior Court awarded plaintiff Patricia A. McLeod $3.4 million after she developed complex regional pain syndrome allegedly due to undergoing nine separate nerve procedures performed in April 2010. The verdict, which was against Dr. Patrick Swier and his practice, came after a seven-day trial before Judge M. Jane Brady.
