In a sweeping measure that could overhaul the state’s so-called “problem-solving courts,” Delaware Supreme Court Chief Justice Leo E. Strine Jr. formed a committee composed of active state judges to review those courts for effectiveness and determine which courts “warrant continuation,” Strine announced last week.

The committee, identified as the Criminal Justice Council of the Judiciary, will also develop consistent standards, rules of procedure and outcome measures for the problem-solving courts that remain in operation after the committee submits its recommendations to the chief justice next June.
