A Delaware judge has slashed as “grossly disproportionate” a $100 million award against Boston Scientific Corp. down to $10 million in a case over one of the company’s pelvic mesh devices.
While upholding the verdict against Boston Scientific, Delaware Superior Court Judge Mary Johnston found Oct. 9 that the amount of the award was “sufficiently out of proportion to the injury so as to shock the court’s conscience and sense of justice.”
