After Delaware Gov. Jack Markell in August issued a surprise veto of her unanimously passed bill, state Rep. Kimberly Williams, D-Newport/Stanton, vowed to revive the measure, which created a felony offense for medical professionals who have sexual contact with patients while in the course of providing health care services.
It now appears Williams—still determined to breathe new life into HB 130—has two options. She can try to hash out differences with the governor’s office and introduce a revised bill, or she could push a rare veto-override vote in the General Assembly.
