Attorney General Matt Denn on Monday outlined a package of legislative proposals to reform Delaware’s drug laws and to close a statutory loophole that allows individuals with a juvenile felony adjudication to escape mandatory jail time if found to be in possession of a firearm.

Speaking at the University of Delaware’s Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, Denn said the measures would serve the dual goals of promoting public safety and combating inequities that expose urban residents to harsher penalties and fail to funnel sufficient resources to substance abuse treatment.
