Geoff Sawyer, partner with Drinker Biddle & Reath’s Wilmington office, spoke Nov. 3 at the 63rd annual fall seminar of the Chicago Tax Club on the state of
national unclaimed property examinations and voluntary compliance programs in the wake of the Delaware federal district court opinion Temple-Inland v. Cook.

The presentation, according to a press release, addressed resolving multistate unclaimed property audits and VDAs in light of the court’s opinion. Discussions also covered how companies should structure their internal unclaimed property compliance and reporting processes going forward.
