Catherine Damavandi, a 14-year veteran of the Delaware Department of Justice, announced her candidacy for attorney general Sept. 10, one day after the primary election. Damavandi, a former deputy attorney general, resigned from the Department of Justice earlier this month in order to run as a Green Party candidate for the position. She is preparing to face Democrat Lt. Gov. Matt Denn, Republican Ted Kittila, Libertarian John Machurek and Independent Dave Graham in the November election.

In a statement issued on her website, Damavandi said she is “committed to protecting our children, the elderly and our vulnerable population.”
