The Judicial Nominating Commission has submitted the names of three current Superior Court judges to Gov. Jack Markell for consideration as the court’s next president judge, according to sources familiar with the process. The three candidates are said to be Judges William C. Carpenter Jr., Eric M. Davis and Jan R. Jurden.

Markell is said to be in the process of conducting interviews with the candidates before selecting his nominee to replace former Superior Court President Judge James T. Vaughn Jr., who was confirmed to the Supreme Court last month.
