Daniel Simmons, a former deputy attorney general, entered a guilty plea March 23 to one count of fourth-degree rape of a 16-year-old boy, according to the Delaware Department of Justice.
Simmons, 35, had been facing four counts of fourth-degree rape in the case. The plea was entered before Judge William L. Witham Jr. in Delaware Superior Court for New Castle County. Simmons’ plea came on his scheduled trial date in Wilmington.
