In what was hailed as a homecoming, Joseph R. Slights III on May 13 publicly took the oath of office to become the 39th member of the Delaware Court of Chancery before a packed courtroom in the Kent County Courthouse.

With family and friends on hand, the Dover native and former Superior Court judge said it was an honor to return to the bench as a representative of his home county, and he vowed to honor his roots in his new role as vice chancellor on Delaware’s court of equity.
